Dr Opeyemi Kolawole publishes an Ideas in ALL Blog: A Right to Repair for Medical Devices

by | Jul 25, 2023 | News

On 30th June 2023, an Ideas in ALL Blog Article written by Dr Opeyemi Kolawole (Post-doctoral Researcher, PatentsInHumans Project) was published. The article discusses the right to repair concept and questions whether the right to repair should be extended to medical devices, and in what contexts.

This is one of the questions being explored in the PatentsInHumans project, led by Professor Aisling McMahon, focusing particularly on how the right to repair may operate in this context and the interactions between this and relevant intellectual property rights that may apply to such devices.

The Ideas in ALL Blog piece is available here!

Thank you to the ALL Institute (which co-hosts the PatentsInHumans project with the School of Law and Criminology at Maynooth University) for including the article on the Ideas in ALL Blog and for the ALL Blog Editors for their help and advice.

This research was conducted as part of the PatentsInHumans project. You can find out more about the PatentsInHumans project by visiting the project website: www.patentsinhumans.eu or by watching this short video.
