We are delighted to welcome Sharon Adedapo to the PatentsInHumans team as a research assistant!

Sharon joined the PatentsInHumans team as a Research Assistant in January 2025. She holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) in Law and Business (first class honours) from Maynooth University. Sharon’s academic and professional experience centers on legal research, with a particular focus on the intersection of intellectual property law, human rights, technology, and ethics. Sharon’s recent work includes working as a legal intern with the World Bank’s LEGAM (Middle East & Africa) practice group, where she conducted research on international development and financial law, focusing on human rights frameworks. She has also interned at a leading international law firm in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group, gaining experience in intellectual property law and regulatory compliance.

Sharon previously held the role of Director of Communications with the European Law Students Association (ELSA) Ireland. ELSA’s main aim was to promote academic excellence, professional development, and social responsibility among law students and lawyers. Sharon navigated various communication platforms effectively. She played a key role in boosting ELSA Ireland’s visibility in the legal and educational sectors. Sharon is passionate about exploring the ethical implications of emerging technologies and their impact on society. She is excited to contribute her skills and expertise to the PatentsInHumans project, with a particular interest in examining the bioethical dimensions of patenting emerging health technologies .
